Berlie Dohertys rich fantasy tale has charming black-and-white line illustrations by Lesley Harker. Berlie Doherty has won the Carnegie Medal twice, first for Grannie Was a Buffer Girl and then for Dear Nobody. She lives in Derbyshire, England.
