A story not to be forgotten… This book captures what it was really like for the men captured in WWII. A story many POWs will never tell. The heartbreaking reality is described in wrenching detail and pulls you into the Stalag. No detail is left unsaid; no poshness was added to lighten the feelings of desperation each man felt. A true picture of a Stalag where the Red Cross had no idea how many American men were there. Trading with the French for cigarettes. Sharing old, holey blankets in bunks filled with lice, 3 men to a bunk to share warmth. The situations that "Hart's War" took so casually and lightly.
