Synopsis
Vinia Majaba is a mother of a young man diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorder, or A.S.D. when he was 3. Twenty years on, the quest continues. Aware of the social implications that can arise throughout the development of her son's life, Vinia gives a very personal and tender advice to find ways to deal with everyday matters where symptoms of A.S.D may pose an issue, such as practical situations or social interactions. This piece of literature serves a purpose of not only reaching out to Vinia's son, but also anyone that either experiences A.S.D or knows someone diagnosed with A.S.D. Vinia's aim is to ultimately connect with others that have felt alone or isolated as a result of this type of mental condition and wishes to leave a set of positive principles that can be followed. The book presents several everyday scenarios and the challenges one might face with A.S.D and how they can be dealt with. Please note that the pieces of advice given do not come from a professional standpoint, but simply from 20+ years of parenting experience with the influence of reading various positive thinking literature and self-help books for the past 25 years. This book is for parents of children with A.S.D who need a voice or an account of how another parent might have tackled hardships associated with this condition.
