Synopses & Reviews
You were born to be a woman of influence. You were born to model your life on Jesus’ life, and in so doing, be a model for others. It may happen in a few quiet words over coffee, in a hug or a prayer. No matter how you do it, you have what it takes. God wants to influence people through you. Use this study guide with a small group of women who share your desire to grow and give… or use it in your private time with God. Either way, it’s time to begin. Let’s get started…together. Experience a Sense of Purpose and Meaning We all want to know we’re unique and special-that our lives count for something. We read of how God called the prophets, the apostles, and the evangelists to mighty works, and we dream of also being called. But when we imagine that all true callings must come in dramatic visions, we tune out God’s quiet voice speaking to us through the Scriptures and the ordinariness of life. Six Steps to Clarify Your Calling offers you the chance to take time to listen to that voice. While in six sessions you probably won’t come to understand God’s map for the rest of your life, it’s likely you will gain clarity about your next step. And as you respond to God’s whisper, you’ll discover a sense of focus and meaning that worldly success cannot begin to match.

Synopsis
“Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” Ps. 90:12 What will your life mean tomorrow? On the morning of her thirtieth birthday, Mimi Wilson woke up wondering where the years had gone. Time was passing more quickly than she’d imagined-but what had she accomplished? She lived a good, busy life. Yet even her active spiritual life seemed void of lasting meaning. The future hung directionless before her. The resulting unique, life-changing search for purpose and direction led Mimi to discover that an intimate understanding of God laid the foundation for the changes she desired. Uncover this story in the pages of Holy Habits as Mimi and her friend, Shelly Cook Volkhardt reveal how their examination of the names of God enabled them to begin living intentionally. Encounter God for yourself as they guide you to meet Him face-to-face and give you ways to make His characteristics a part of your daily patterns. Let Mimi and Shelly’s personal experience and in-depth study lead you to an intimate, lasting relationship with God which will give you a life full of purpose and direction.

About the Author
Mimi spent her childhood in the Belgian Congo. Hearing her missionary parents honor God created a longing in her to know Him personally. To facilitate her quest, she reviewed her life to see how to better steward her time. Mimi developed the Once-A-Month Cooking technique as a practical solution. After twenty years of in-depth study into the character of God, Mimi and her prayer partner Shelly, wrote Holy Habits: A Woman’s Guide to Intentional Living. Mimi knew she needed to know God’s goodness in order to rest in His plan for her. Trusting in His Goodness shares her journey.
Shelly’s husband teases that “Made in Taiwan” is stamped on the bottom of her foot. She grew up in a missionary home with a passion for God and evangelism. That continues to this day. Shelly longs to encourage women to find out who God is and what difference He can make in their daily life. She does that through prayer, mentoring, encouraging, writing, and speaking in English and Spanish. Shelly has written Holy Habits: A Woman’s Guide to Intentional Living with her prayer partner Mimi Wilson. She also wrote Kitchen Table Counseling with her mother, Muriel Cook.
