Synopsis
Legend has it that the cabin is haunted, that its ghosts are matchmakers... but if the couple "matched" don't agree, the two are doomed to never find true love.
Carly Fullerton cares nothing about ghosts, dire legends, or true love. All she wants is peace and quiet in her cabin. She has no idea her sister has decided to turn the cabin into a vacation rental and has already rented it to Alex Townson, divorced, bitter, and not wanting anyone or anything to get in the way of fulfilling a torturous commitment.
With both disturbing the other's plans, it's a "hate at first sight" situation. Will the cabin's ghosts have met their match with these two non-lovebirds? What schemes will the ghosts concoct as they try to bring a little love and magic to two broken people?
Find out why Joanne Pence's books are much loved with this heartwarming and "ghostly" romantic trilogy, beginning with If I Loved You.
Praise for Joanne Pence's romances:
"There are a lot of books in this genre that tell heart-warming stories about love ... but not many that tell it in such a way that it makes you feel the sadness and the joy along with the characters."
"I really enjoyed this book and find the only negative thing I can say is that it ended. ... I'm off to look for more books from Ms. Pence."
"I wanted to thank Ms Pence by writing this review before going back to my real life ... the characters made me feel for them, and for me that's what good fiction is all about."
"...she weaves a tale with flesh-and-blood characters, a plot that locks into place and a setting nostalgic yet real."
"Once I started reading it, I couldn't put it down until I was finished it."
Synopsis
Two troubled strangers, a remote mountain cabin. Both arrive at the same time. Both expect to be alone. And neither expects the cabin to be haunted...
Carly Fullerton's catering business is failing, and she heads to her family's remote and unused cabin to make plans to rebuild the business and her passion to run it. As a child, the cabin always felt "spooky," but she's sure that was youthful nonsense.
She has no idea that thriller writer Alex Townson has rented the cabin from one of her sisters. Alex needs to get away from a troubling situation to finish an overdue manuscript and is thrilled to find a vacation rental that also allows his huge 150 lb. Newfoundland dog to stay there.
While Carly and Alex's initial encounters are fraught, they are soon caught in a whirlwind of strange but often oddly humorous encounters with "something" in the cabin. Is the cabin haunted, or is it all a farce? And if haunted, what motives drive these mischievous spirits?
The two must grapple not only with each other, but discover the need to unfold the forgotten memories of their remote refuge. Slowly, the line between friend and foe blurs as the secrets of the cabin combine with the goals of its ghostly inhabitants.
Don't miss all the books in the whimsical and warm Donnelly Cabin Inn series when humor, the supernatural, and romance intertwine with the goals of the cabin's ethereal matchmakers.
