Synopses & Reviews
At the secondhand store, Jacob and his mother buy a "good-as-new" pair of pajamas decorated with tiny polar bears. The proprietor half-seriously warns that the bears are naughty and gives Jacob a dingy stuffed polar bear named King to keep them in line. That night, the tiny bears escape from his pajamas and head for the near-frozen swimming hole. King -- who has magically become a real, full-size polar bear -- helps Jacob get them back.
Illustrated in a decorative style with lush, illustrative borders, this book carries a subtle, antimaterialistic message about the value of imagination, as opposed to expensive "things, " as the key to exciting fun.
Synopsis
