About the Author
Cheryl M. Sigmon currently works as an educational consultant, working in schools nationally and internationally to help teachers integrate balanced literacy. She has served as a language arts specialist in the South Carolina State Department of Education, and is a former classroom teacher. She lives in Columbia, South Carolina, with her husband Ray, with whom she has three grown daughters.
Sylvia M. Ford, also an educational consultant who works nationally and internationally with a focus on balanced literacy, is a former classroom teacher with more than 30 years of experience in grades K-5. She worked as a language arts specialist for a K-12 school district. She lives in West Columbia, South Carolina, with her husband Don. They have two grown daughters.
