When she was only five, Bonnie Franz learned to knit from her mother. After making a blanket for her doll, she dropped the needles until her college years when she re-learned the basics and went beyond. She eventually progressed through the Master level of the Knitting Guild of America program and began designing her own patterns, which have been published in many books, booklets, magazines, and newsletters. In 2002, Bonnie started a newsletter called Stranded to create a forum for colorwork discussion, history, and designs. She is the author of Double Exposure: Knit it Basic, Knit it Bold.
