Entfaltete sich zugleich auch ein reiches poetisches Schafen in der Landessprache, indem teils die schon vom Festland mitgebrachten epischen Sto e auf Grund alter Lieder, teils aber nament lich auch biblische Stoffe Gegenstand poetischer Darstellung wurden, und manche kostbare Dichtung ist uns aus dieser Zeit erhalten, w hrend vieles Andere dem zerst renden Einfluss der Zeit unterlegen sein mag.
