Synopsis
Excerpt from Live Stock
Lastly, I must impress upon all students of agricul ture, whether old or young, the vast importance of practical knowledge of animals, gained by looking after them. The directions given to pig-feeders lose half their meaning to anyone who has no pig to practise upon. The same is true of every kind of stock, and it is the actual contact, the actual exchange of opinions, coupled with reading, which, taken together, form the basis of practical knowledge.
