Robin Spowart are a husband-and-wife team who live and work in California. Ms. Modesitt is a frelance writer and the author of six books for children. Mr. Spowart is a painter of visionary landscapes and the illustrator of twelve books for children, several written by his wife.
The couple say they wrote and illustrated Mama, If You Had a Wish because they "wanted children to know they are loveable and wonderful just the way they are."
