Poetry. MEMNOIR is a high-speed chase through intersections of chance and consciousness in the "experience of experiencing" our lives. Movies and memory swap visceral/visual thrill with mathematics and philosophy as Retallack plays with our reliance on symbols and cultural frames of reference to get 'to the point' of a given moment. In MEMNOIR, knowlede is inseperable from its movie version, and the known coordinate with the unknown. Pitting present tense against coincidence, MEMNOIR graphs the field of possibilities scattering beyond its points, inviting us to "reconfigure the geometry of attention," that we may dissolve into the unpredictable pleasures of a more complex system of meaning.
