About the Author
Born and educated through college in Tokyo, Japan. Earned B.A. (English), M.A. (French), and Ph.D. (Linguistics) in U.S. Taught at University of Southern California for 38 years as Professor of East Asian Languages and Cultures. Published many scholarly articles and books in Phonetics, Japanese language textbooks for college and high school students, and multicultural and ESL materials for children (age 8-12).
