Synopses & Reviews
MPEG is an acronym for the moving pictures experts group which was formed by the ISO to set standards for audio and video compression and transmission. This book first outlines the major applications of MPEG, and explains the fundamentals of compression. The creation of MPEG elementary streams and their multiplexing into transport streams is then discussed, along with the problems involved in synchronizing all of the signals in a multiplex. The book replaces and expands on Compression in Video and Audio.
