In this delightful story about friendship across nations and cultures, one small child visits nine different countries to find a friend and#151; and ends up being friends with ALL the children he meets. Along the way he discovers how children live in other countries and the things they enjoy doing, learning both how their lives are different and how many of the things children enjoy throughout the world are the same. The countries featured are Brazil, China, Russia, Kenya, the Netherlands, Sweden, Japan, Morocco, and the United States. The artwork and text are perfectly pitched for a very young audience, with charming, friendly illustrations and the humorous, gentle text for which this author and illustrator are renowned. The book brings the theme of cultural diversity to a younger readership in a fun and simple way while also showing that children are in many ways the same the world over.
