Bethie finds herself alone in the wilderness. Her husband is dead and she is with child. She is frightened of the world around her. She takes Nicholas into her home to heal his wounds from the torture he has endured. They develop a love for each other that cannot be denied. The author shows you what the raw frontier could be like when our early settlers found it. It is a good story. Ruth Thompson author of “The Bluegrass Dream” and “Natchez Above The River”
