Synopsis
In explaining and diagnosing the physical conditions of phobic behavior, Dr. Levinson reveals that a fear of elevators or planes, for example, may be the result of an inner-ear failure to handle motion input -- resulting in a panic attack. Treatments such as behavior modification and psychotherapy are also discussed. Together this information will enable both patient and clinician to better analyze the mechanisms responsible for phobias and other kinds of panic episodes and lead them to successful treatment.
