Synopsis
Platinum Passport is a collection of three short stories from celebrated Shanghai writer Zhu Xiaolin. 'Normandy Rainbow' tells the story of a mother and daughter chasing their dreams—and discovering the twists, turns and dead-ends that make the journey so difficult. In 'Auschwitz Wall of Death,' a young Chinese journalist determined to bear witness to the atrocities of the death camp instead discovers the truth behind the indestructible human spirit. The title story, 'Platinum Passport', exposes the dangers behind reacting from despair. This short story collection is a fascinating exploration of the heights and depths of human emotions and experience.
About the Author
Zhu Xiaolin is a native of Shanghai, where she is an Associate Professor of International College of Chinese Studies at East China Normal University. She is the author of nine novels, including Sunset at Normandy.
