Synopses & Reviews
For the last two years, led by award-winning artist Jonathan Hill, a community of cartoonists from the Pacific Northwest College of Art have self-published two comics anthologies, Unversed and No Refunds. The goal of these projects was to showcase the professional level work being created in Jonathan's classes, as well as giving students hands on experience in designing, funding, and publishing their own books. Many of the contributors in these books have gone on to work in fields of animation, storyboarding, video games, and creating work for publishers like Oni Press, Image Comics, Nobrow, Iron Circus Comics, and Comixology.
In early 2020 Unversed Comics will be releasing their third and final anthology in the series, Postscript. Featuring 11 new artists and 28 returning contributors, with a book clocking in at over 550 pages, Postscript says goodbye in the biggest way possible and celebrates the amazing cartooning talent of both established and up and coming artists in Portland.
