This innovative text explores the scientific discipline of public health and in particular public health nursing, the three core functions of Public Health and the systematic processes including strategies to enhance the health of the public. It applies a public health nursing perspective throughout the chapters and demonstrates how nurses use intervention strategies based on best evidence in their practice. It features the application of the Minnesota Health Department Public Health Intervention Wheel, which contains 17 intervention strategies. Chapters incorporate case studies and focus on themes using examples from public health nurses who use these intervention strategies to address a public health problems experienced by individuals, families, and populations.
