Synopsis
Jolene Mitchell grew up in a small town in Florida, the sheltered and only child in a home consumed by secrets. She was raised by an alcoholic mother and an abusive, emotionally absent Father. As she matured, she was heavily weighed by feelings of being broken and missing fragments of her life. Her father's unexplained death compounded this feeling and led to a strained relationship with her mother, who failed to fill in the missing pieces she yearned for. She married, hoping it would satisfy her longing for love and security, but her husband's untimely murder spiraled her into a revelation of dread, an understanding that her fears were intertwined with her undiscovered truths.Cameron Johnson was an up and coming journalist from New Jersey whose life journey would come to parallel Jolene's. They were the same age, and she was also raised as an only child. Her career as a writer will bring her crashing into Jolene's life. Her interests are piqued when she finds discrepancies in a date rape story that involved Jolene. And as she digs deeper into Jolene's past, their lives soon collide and the two are forever changed, bound by veracity. Cameron will be exposed to a difficult truth about Jolene, one that she unintentionally tainted by her own doing. The contrasting backdrop of Jolene's and Cameron's lives doesn't prevent them from coming together. Instead they become linked by their quests and are connected through anguish. They will both have to accept their hand in each other's fate, but only one of them will have a chance to tell the story.
