Synopses & Reviews
This book brings together material from a wide range of studies, mainly qualitative in character, concerned with exploring what actually goes on in learning situations, and exploring the perspectives and experience of teachers, pupils, and students. The chapters cover a range of settings, from primary schools to initial teacher training courses. They examine a variety of topics, from the educational role of school assemblies to the impact of personal experience on learning about health risks. Several chapters focus on the effects of recent education policy on schools, and some consideration is also given to the implications of research for policy.
