Synopsis
Excerpt from Review of Proposed Legislation to Permit Address List Sharing by the Census Bureau: Hearing Before the Subcommittee on Census, Statistics and Postal Personnel of the Committee on Post Office and Civil Service, House of Representatives, One Hundred Third Congress, Second Session, July 21, 1994
Mr. Sawyer. This morning we are dealing with some of the more specific aspects of preparation for the 2000 census. The topic of our hearing is to consider whether Congress needs to amend any laws to facilitate the sharing of address information that might contrib ute to making a more accurate census list. That list, of course, is fundamental to any mail-based census effort.
