Synopses & Reviews
This book is a unique collection of evolutionary and ecological perspectives in the study of biodiversity. The book traces past landmarks, current questions, and future trends in biodiversity research ranging from the evaluation of the fossil record and molecular phylogenies in looking at the
genesis of diversity to population, community, and ecosystem-level approaches in understanding patterns of species persistence. Subject reviews, case studies, and discussions of techniques are combined to produce a state-of-the-art volume that will be welcomed by students and researchers in fields
related to biodiversity, as well as staffs of zoos and botanical gardens.
Review
"All in all it is a magnificent piece of work, and, if you believe the new millennium began with 2000, this edition is a splendid start for the Malone Society in this epoch."--Shakespeare Bulletin
Synopsis
Shakespeare's tragedy Romeo and Juliet was performed around 1595 and published in 1597 in a quarto claiming on its title page that it was printed by John Danter. The present volume is a photographic facsimile of this text, taken from the copy in the Huntington Library in California. The text reproduced here includes in the margins through-line numbering both for the Quarto and for the equivalent passages in the 1623 Folio, as well as a table that matches the Quarto pages and the line numbers with the act, scene, and line numbers of the Riverside Shakespeare.
