Synopses & Reviews
What do you get when you cross a chicken with spinach?* How about a radish with a shark?** Welcome to the world of scranimals . . . or rather, Scranimal Island a lush and varied paradise populated by scranimals of all kinds. What do scranimals look like? How do they behave? What do they eat? And how are they observed? In the hands of Jack Prelutsky, the best-selling poet laureate of the elementary school set, and Peter SÍ s, the two-time Caldecott Honor artist, a voyage to Scranimal Island is a voyage of discovery. And when these veteran collaborators send two young explorers (traveling on a yellow scooter, propelled by wheels and the wind) through the pages of their original and surprising picture book, the result is a journey that is thrilling and dangerous and funny and mischievous and memorable and heart-stoppingly beautiful. You re welcome to come along, too! *A clutch of spinachickens, fussing in the yard. **The detested radishark.
