Synopses & Reviews
One of the most common beliefs today is that sex between “friends” is harmless. It makes perfect sense! After all, nobody wants to settle down and get married at 16, but once that sex drive kicks in you’ve got to do something with all those hormones, right? Why not just relieve the tension without getting emotionally entangled? That’s what “friends with benefits” are for . . . all the fun without the commitment. Having and being an FWB may sound like a risk-free option, but the truth is that sleeping around, even with good friends, is hazardous to your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health. There are
always consequences when we distort something that God has created. And because He’s the one who dreamed up sex in the first place, it’s a good idea to know what He intended when He invented it for us.This is a handbook for doing sex right, without risk of STDs, an unwanted pregnancy, a broken heart or the burden of emotional baggage. If you follow the plan laid out inside, you can avoid these consequences and have
the best sex of your life, with your BFF . . . your husband or wife.

Teens today face a bombardment of the glorification of promiscuous sex from every side. From MTV images and music lyrics to television programs popular with teens, the message communicated is that everyone is doing it and those abstaining from sex are abnormal. Friends with benefits has become too common, almost expected. Seeking to stand up for teens and exhort them to speak for sexual purity is the youth organization, Teen Mania. In Friends Without Benefits, founder Ron Luce encourages teens to know the facts (physical and biblical) about sex and sexuality so they can make wise, informed choices rather than just follow the crowd. With their identities and self images at stake, teens need a clear, encouraging, hopeful message like this. Not what feels good, but what is right. Not what is tempting, but what is true. Designed for teens, here are honest stories and discussion of issues they need to hear before it is too late.

Synopsis
One of the greatest influences on teens is other teens. They listen to each other now more than ever, and learn from each how to survive and thrive in their faith and in the world. Having the ear of hundreds of thousands of teens over the years, Ron and Katie Luce have insight into their worlds. So they have invited select teens, including Honor Academy students and Teen Mania internship and missions trips alumni, to write from their hearts to their peers. These select teens have penned 50 daily devotionals, each one digging into a different aspect of teen life today. The writings will tell stories of passion, pursuing God and cultivating a servant attitude. They will deal head on with peer pressure, teen suicide, sex and purity. They will struggle with the ideals of absolutes and big dreams against the backdrop of a hopeless feeling culture in crisis. These edgy daily readings will draw teen readers into the conversations that will build a character of no compromise and equip them with leadership skills that will prepare them to not only survive but also thrive in teen years.
