Los Pol meros intr nsecamente conductores (PCI) son macromol culas donde la conductividad el ctrica se origina en la conjugaci n extendida de electrones Pi a lo largo de la cadena polim rica. Durante las ltimas d cadas ha sido notorio el crecimiento del inter s de los PCI en el rea de Ciencia de Materiales, por sus posibles aplicaciones en visores, bater as, diodos, leds, etc. La qu mica de materiales avanzados ha sido de gran importancia para el desarrollo, ya sean de materiales inorg nicos como org nicos. Estos ltimos han crecido notablemente durante las dos d cadas pasadas. En este libro se presentan las caracter sticas principales de los "pol meros intr nsecamente conductores" (PCI). Se rese a la historia de la Polianilina (PANI), su s ntesis y la producci n de pel culas autosostenidas, de mezclas de un pol mero diel ctrico y PANI.
