Synopsis
You will be able to design your own original sock patterns without having to know how to write a pattern by choosing from a variety of sock cuff, body, heel and toe pattern combinations, this time from the toe up. While most knitters first learn how to make socks from the cuff down, toe up construction is quickly growing in popularity. Working from the toe up allows you to try on socks as they and never worry about running out of before the sock is finished. Following the same format as Socks La Carte, the book starts with general instructions for toe-up sock construction, including measuring feet and making calculations based on gauge. The bulk of the book will be composed of the flip pages and the pattern instructions. Each of the flip pages is divided into thirds; the top third features a cuff pattern, the middle showcases a body choice, and the final flap pictures a heel and toe. You can flip the flaps to see how different elements will work together to make a single sock. Each flap will be labeled with the name of the pattern and the page number for the written pattern. The book will also feature a gallery of completed socks.
