Synopses & Reviews
This book provides an introduction to the nature, occurrence, physical properties, propagation, and uses of surfactants in the petroleum industry.
Review
"In addition to scientists and engineers in the petroleum industry, this book will be of interest to senior undergraduates and graduate students in science and engineering, and to graduate students of surfactant chemistry." Journal of Canadian Petroleum Technology"This book is aimed primarily at scientists, engineers, and students who work with surfactants in enhanced recovery and process design...Surfacants: Fundamental Applications in the Petroleum Industry, and its three companions, are invaluable reference texts and will serve as a resource for anyone investigating the physics of multiphase fluid flow." Synopsis
This book provides an introduction to the nature, properties, and uses of âsurfactantsâ(detergents and soaps) in the petroleum industry. These are very important in many parts of the petroleum production process: in reservoirs, in oilwells, in surface processing operations, and in environmental, health and safety applications. They can be used to make drilling muds more effective, to help displace oil and transport it through underground reservoirs to oil wells, to make or break petroleum industry emulsions or foams, and to treat oilspills.
