Synopsis
One of a series of three readers and three texts exploring the transition from predominantly rural to urban ways of living drawing on views from a number of perspectives. It can be used independently or in conjunction with the companion text. The 31 articles, originally published from the 1950s to the 1990s, focus on continental US and range from Indian settlements to the Internet communications of the 1990s.
