Synopsis
Ted, Jack, Billy, Mark, and John were a bunch of misfits who spent every summer at a campground near a small town in New Hampshire. Although they didn't have a lot to do to pass time, the boys still managed to get into something new every day. One of them even experiences his first true love.
While the boys struggle to maintain their sanity, their daily activities draws the attention of the locals. Trouble starts brewing, and now John and his friends must prepare for the fight of their lives.

John always protected his small group of friends as they try and survive the teenage years basically unsupervised. He always made sure they had food and when they would occasionally break the law, it was John who always planned things out and made sure no one got in trouble. During the summer of 1974 John starts to get the tug into adulthood and decides to move on from the gang. How do the boys fare without John to look after them?

On one level the story is a comedy. On another it's a tragedy. The conflicts faced and the choices the teenagers make in the summer of 1974 will have lifetime implications.
Synopsis
Take a trip down memory lane back to the 70's when life was very different especially in small towns. Join John and his friends the Boys of Blue Lake Park as they overcome boredom and regularly create mischief. Until John meets someone and realizes that if continues down this path his life may always be limited to his current situation. During one of his final adventures the boys, John sees the need to change his behavior in search for a better way of life forever. Given John's loyalty to his friends it was hard to turn away but he never forgot the boys at the park and where he came from. This a great read for young adults or those of us that get nostalgic for the 70's.
