CARLTON STOWERS won the Mystery Writers of Americas Edgar Allen Poe Award for the Best Fact Crime Book of the Year. In 2001, Stowers was inducted into the Texas Institute of Letters. He received the A. C. Greene Literary Award for Lifetime Achievement and, in 2010, he was inducted into the Texas Literary Hall of Fame.
