Synopsis
"Since September, we had taken five Spanish privateers, all of them small vessels that had given up without firing so much as a shot. The Aurora's fame was growing, and it was Captain Hunter's hope that before long the pirate Steele would come to believe we truly were pirates and so he would let down his guard."
Young Davy Shea was expecting hard work when he was sent to apprentice with his uncle Patrick -- "Patch" -- a ship's surgeon in the Caribbean. But when his uncle and shipmates mutiny and overthrow His Majesty's rule, Davy finds himself in the middle of a secret war, one in which the rebellious Captain Hunter actually takes his ship undercover into the lion's den of pirates, and Uncle Patch is up to his arms in the sick and wounded from these heated battles. Davy himself is forced to take up arms, choose sides, and fight the lawless men of the Caribbean in 1668.
