After having again withdrawn. She was for the last time brought for ward. Arrayed in white. With the crown upon her head. In her right hand she held a large crucifix. And in the left an ornamented taper. The Lady Abbess. Now taking leave. Withdrew, followed by the sister hood. Each bearing her lighted taper in her hand. The new bride was meantime left by herself. Kneeling, in front of the grating. Solemn music. And a few words appropriate to the occasion, were delivered by a priest. And the melancholy ceremony was at an end.
