I thought this movie was just about perfect. A little too PG-13, but oh well. Shia Leboeuf was great. It really made me want to see more movies w/him in it. I was extremely worried about this movie. So many classics from my youth have been remade horribly, and Michael Bay is, well Michael Bay. Not my favorite director. But the story was good, w/just enough cheese to counteract the seriousness of it all. Optimus had the same voice actor. It was all good. We saw it twice in theaters, once in a regular theater, once in IMAX. Seriously, if you don't already own this, why not?

"Transformers, more than meets the eye. Transformers, robots in disguise." The jerks don't even use the theme song. Does it ever feel like all the comics/toys/cartoons from your childhood are being made into loud, bloated movies? Michael 'Pear Harbor' Bay directs with his usual bombastic touch, but no one expects subtlety here. Do you want to see big, sleek robots knocking the crap out of each other? Me too. Too bad this movie had to have a plot and characters though. It also could've done with some more transforming.
