Synopses & Reviews
This new series of fabulously illustrated four-color natural history travel guides finally offers a practical and fun way to enjoy the wildlife and natural resources of a country. The guides consist of unique, authoritative descriptions of some two-hundred-plus sites to visit, complemented line drawings and photographs of individual animals and plants, spectacular photographs of landscapes, and paintings. Each book introduces the ecology, geology, and wildlife of the country it covers, then describes where to see its natural history at its best. The entries are based on intensive travel and research by the individual authors, all seasoned travelers with first-hand experience of the country they write about. Each guide includes practical information on access, maps, and appropriate field guides. Sites range in size from a few to thousands of acres, including National Parks, nature reserves, and common land, and all are open to the public.
