Synopses & Reviews
This book is filled with stories of the "ordinary" black in the South during the 50's & 60's - not the heroic civil rights marchers. Few direct judgements are made - oberservations are reported, language recorded, events unfolded. The reader cannot escape the ironies, but creates them rather than being confronted by them.
