Synopsis
For this collection, Singleton selected descriptions that were written by authors who show an appreciation of the romantic spirit, as well as the architectural beauty and grandeur of the work they describe. The writers include such well-known figures as Charles Dickens, Theophile Gautier, Victor Hugo and John Ruskin. Some of the buildings they describe include the Tower of London, The Kremlin, The Pyramids, St. Peter_s, Windsor Castle, and The Parthenon.
