John Green fans rejoice: the wait is over! Aza, who suffers from obsessive thought spirals, and her best friend Daisy are in search of a fugitive billionaire and the reward money for his capture. I loved this tale of adventure and friendship. Recommended By Jennifer H., Powells.com
This is not only my number one book for this year, but one of my top five favorite books of all time. I think what I loved most about this book was that it portrayed anxiety and OCD without romanticizing them. John Green also placed more importance on the friendship featured in this novel than on the romantic interest, which I always appreciate. Recommended By Brenna M., Powells.com
All the feels. Yes, this was hard to read, and will be a hard read for anyone who has experienced even the smallest bit of anxiety or OCD. However, it’s also a healing and reflective book. The story is all life, all truth, and all yearning to find meaning. John Green, thank you for sharing this part of yourself. You’ve done it again. Recommended By Andy A., Powells.com
Synopses & Reviews
It’s quite rare to find someone who sees the same world you see.
Sixteen-year-old Aza never intended to pursue the mystery of fugitive billionaire Russell Pickett, but there’s a $100,000 reward at stake and her Best and Most Fearless Friend, Daisy, is eager to investigate. So together, they navigate the short distance and broad divides that separate them from Russell Pickett’s son, Davis.
Aza is trying. She is trying to be a good daughter, a good friend, a good student, and maybe even a good detective, while also living within the ever-tightening spiral of her own thoughts.
In his long-awaited return, John Green, the acclaimed, award-winning author of Looking for Alaska and The Fault in Our Stars, shares Aza’s story with shattering, unflinching clarity in this brilliant novel of love, resilience, and the power of lifelong friendship.
