Synopsis
The tiles of the twentieth century are as diverse and interesting as those of any preceding period but have received only scant attention before now. This book charts the development of these tiles and considers how the manufacturers and designers met technical and artistic challenges. This new title illustrates many of the tiles in colour.
Chris Blanchett is a bookseller specialising in tiles and a keen collector of 20th century tiles. He wrote the pioneering essay 'Picture Tiles in the 2oth Century'.
