Synopses & Reviews
Advance Praise for
Two to Go"A tumbling cascade of hilarious disasters makes for this wonderfully funny novel. Nick Earls' self-doubting, but eternally optimistic hero Philby Harris ranks with the great 'hapless narrators' of comic literature."
-Luke Davies, author of Candy
Praise for Perfect Skin
"Hilarious....engaging, funny, and thoroughly convincing."
- The Tampa Tribune
"A well-crafted and genuinely romantic book."
- Publishers Weekly
"In Perfect Skin, when you least expect it, love can come right up and surprise you. Nick Earls has a decided knack for screwball comedy and creating oddball characters who find love in many unexpected places. Perfect Skin is a perfectly quirky delight."
- Karen Moline, author of Belladonna
"Funny and moving...with complex characters and compelling examinations of the ambivalence that sometimes accompanies grief."
- Booklist
Review
"Dating can be daunting at any age, but Earls paints the battle of the sexes as a friendly duel with plenty of promising common ground." -
Publishers Weekly

A funny and moving novel about fried chicken, friendship, and big dreams of leaving the minimum-wage, fast-food grind far, far behind Phil and Frank are best friends and med students who work part-time at Ron Todd's World of Chickens as a package deal. Phil's out in front doing shifts in the chicken suit, and Frank's in back frying burgers. They are the A Team, and the World is a sanctuary from the pressures of home and college, and a place to scheme about meeting women. Someday Frank hopes to be a surgeon, while Phil's secret dream is to be a filmmaker. In the meantime, life at the World gets sticky when Phil falls big time for Ron's daughter, Frank has it bad for Ron's wife, and business is down. Suddenly, Phil becomes a reluctant and altogether unexpected oracle on dental health, strategic planning, and marriage guidance.
