Advertisement of October 1, 1873: Inviting Proposals for Carrying the Mails of the United States in the States of Oregon, Nevada, and California, and Territories of Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, Idaho, and Washington, From July 1, 1874 to June 30, 1878, Proposals
United States which may come into my possession or control. So help me God.
By section 16 of the act of June 8, 187 2, every person employed in the postal service is subject to all the pains, penalties, and forfeitures for violation of the laws relating to such service, whether he has taken the above oath or affirmation or not.
