Synopsis
Excerpt from U. S. Grain Growers, Inc: A Farmer-Owned, Nonstock, Non-Profit Assocation to Handle and Sell Grain at Cost for Its Farmer Members
They found that seventy-two per cent of our wheat is marketed within ninety days after harvest. And they incorporated as one of the first basic principles of their marketing plan the fact that there must be a more orderly movement of grain to market so as to avoid market gluts that play into the hands of the Speculator. They found that some of the greatest profits are made in mixing, re-grading and conditioning grains, and they incorporated the fact that the farmer must do these jobs him self if he is to realize more nearly the market value of his crops.
