I really enjoyed getting to know Bill better in this second book of Love and Honor series. I love second chance romance trope so Bill's second chance with Lynda was truly delightful. Bill and Lynda's story is not brimming with action like the first book with Rick and Cynthia but has plenty of suspense as FBI and DoD piece together information to hunt down an ecoterrorist group. The story flows very differently from the first book but still has all the intensity and appeal, with intricately carved-out plot, gasp-worthy twists and turns, rock solid faith turning into action, and heart-fluttery romance. I do recommend you read the series in order to get the full impact. If you're a fan of romantic suspense, you will love this one.
Lynda, with her analytical intelligence and tenacity, is an easy heroine to love. Bill's ugly upbringing comes to light here but he's no less lovable; he's the perfect hero who is protective, loving, patient, God-fearing, and self-sacrificial. His faith is tangible and real as he struggles with his self-worth and acceptance. Catching up with Rick, Cynthia, and the rest of the special forces team was such a treat. Now I need to dive into the next book in the series!
I received the book from the publisher via NetGalley and was under no obligation to post a positive comment. All opinions are my own.
