Synopsis
Instead of reading vast treatises and volumes of philosophy, this book summarizes the wisdom of four groups, Buddhists, Native Americans, African Americans and Ancient Greeks, including Aristotle, Socrates, and Plato. All these groups express their ideas differently depending on the situations they have been exposed to. The Buddhists express ways to s higher consciousness, the Native Americans have ideas about living close to the earth and preserving their lands, the African Americans are especially conscious of their struggle to rise above the inequities they have been subjected to, and the Ancient Greeks contemplated ways they can live together for maximum enjoyment and intellectual growth. All four of these groups express a lot of wisdom and awareness and there is a lot that can be learned from studying their words and ideas. This book does not cover everything. It is a taste of their thoughts. All of them can benefit all of us. Contemplate what they have to say and learn their wisdom.
