Synopses & Reviews
Emily Arnold McCully, Jamie Lee Curtis, James Howe, Patricia Lee Gauch, Trina Schart Hyman, and Eve Bunting are just a few of the writers cooking up a storm in this mouth-watering collection. Here are nearly two hundred recipes from over one hundred fifty writers, including appetizers, entrees, and desserts. But this is much more than a recipe book. Even when they cook, writers love to tell stories. Each delicious recipe is accompanied by an equally delicious anecdote. Barry Moser remembers his childhood in Chattanooga and offers a recipe for "Greens"; Jane Yolen recalls the days when she made applesauce with her grandmother in Virginia; and Jerry Spinelli tells the humorous story behind "Thelma's Chocolate Cake." Here's to good food and good reading!

"Potpourri---that is me. I want to do it all. I love tinkering and trying. I want to write it all---though picture books and short stories are my main loves (if I could just figure which is which). I'm learning and loving the journey down the writing path. Good thing I love a challenge."
