The ever-expanding electronic pages of the Internet make it the ideal place for writers to develop their skills and market their work. This new guide, from the author of fiction and nonfiction books including The Guide to the Jewish Internet, points writers to the best online sites for researching topics, seeking advice, marketing their material, and publishing their work.
Far more than just a listing of Internet sites, Michael Levin reviews and highlights the most helpful Web pages, newsgroups, mailing lists, and IRC channels for fiction, nonfiction, drama, news, poetry, academic, and business writers. He discusses online writing classes and support groups, and helps readers navigate the best electronic job banks for employment in a variety of disciplines from technical writing to public relations writing. His reviews of dozens of e-zines -- online magazines that publish only on the Internet -- explore opportunities for new writers to publish for the first time, develop readership, gain credits, and receive feedback from editors and readers.
Unlike other online writing guides, Levin offers the perspective of a published writer. His advice will help writers discover how to use the Internet to find readers, subscribers, buyers, and online bookstores that will selltheir work. He even includes instruction on building Web sites so writers can develop their own publicity campaigns. The hundreds of sources in Writer's Internet Source Book will be invaluable in saving writers time and money.
