100 Cookies
by Sarah Kieffer
Brownie Cookies (pg. 45)
The best of both worlds, these Brownie Cookies are somehow both chewy and soft, the perfect amount of chocolate, and I didn't have to hunt down any obscure ingredients at the grocery store. Every recipe I've tried from this cookbook has been amazing, but these are perfect if you want to show off with a little more than, say, your average chocolate chip — but not work too hard along the way. We're just getting our chocolate fix after work, not trying to make it on the
Great British Baking Show, you know? —

Pull-Apart Sour Cream and Chive Rolls (pg. 313)
These are perfect for any holiday gathering — easy to share, insanely delicious, and everyone will want to eat twelve because they're so much better than store-bought rolls. If you're worried about difficulty level, this book has a handy Recipe Matrix at the front (which I firmly believe all recipe books should have) that graphs the amount of time and difficulty level of each recipe, so you know what you're getting into. This one is four hours with a 4 out of 5 difficulty, so it may be harder for inexperienced bakers, but after the pandemic bread era, I'm confident there are plenty of bakers out there ready to try their hand at these rolls and reap the mouthwatering rewards. —

Super Natural Simple
by Heidi Swanson
Everybody's Favorite Fried Rice
I’m always looking for fresh and healthy recipes and this cookbook has become one of my favorites at home. The recipes don’t require too much time, effort, or excessive shopping lists. I love to add on to those recipes as a base and revise where it feels best. This is a yummy, classic fried rice that I added fried tofu and fish sauce to! —

Salmon Poke Bowl
Enjoy full control of portions and toppings in this book full of delicious, refreshing recipes! Feel free to mix and match to your desire with meals that are low maintenance and easy to prep. Tinkering with marinades is the hardest (and most fun) part. Your belly will thank you! —

The Fresh Eggs Daily Cookbook
by Lisa Steele
Deviled Eggs with Avocado Oil and Sage (pg. 133)
This may sound a bit odd, but one of my favorite foods is deviled eggs. I wouldn’t eat five hard-boiled eggs, but cut them in half, whip up the yolks with vinegar, mayonnaise, and magic, and I will eat them all. This recipe was a treat. The fresh sage, from my garden, made it extra special and this cookbook was so helpful with tons of tips about eggs that I never would have known. Now all I have to do is figure out how to get a chicken coop in my apartment. —

The Best Ever Cookie Book
by Good Housekeeping
Matcha Cookies (pg. 92)
I made these for my coworkers and they were all gone by the end of the day. They are crumbly perfection. Great for those that don’t want something too sweet. I decorated with rose petals and chocolate chips for extra pizazz. —

Pie Academy
by Ken Haedrich
Pennsylvania Dutch Market Peach and Sour Cherry Pie (pg. 144)
I made this pie for a summer-picnic first date at a park. I modified the recipe slightly to make it gluten free and to have a top crust, but regardless, it still turned out lovely. The pie was everything I could have hoped for. The date was not. —
