I enjoyed it much better than I thought I would. A good mixture of zombies and post-apocalyptic with new-age news bloggers. The story didn't have any big surprises which was disappointing. The, I'm just trying to get the truth out, got old especially there was no acknowledgement until the very end that it was the truth as they saw it. Also it seemed the characters were much younger than 24 and tried too hard to justify that blogging and internet news was the only right one (but I agree that traditional news has huge faults).

Zombies! a fast paced novel, set in the future, compelling characters and a fairly sensible explanation of the cause of a world wide zombie pandemic beginning in 2014. Love the idea that responsible respectable journalism is in the hands of bloggers in 2039. I read the whole trilogy with great enjoyment.

I'm completely in love with this book... well written, fast paced, complex characters, a newswriter/heroine, political intrigue, and zombies that make sense to me.

The beginning of a fantastic series of books. Feed tells the story from the point of view of Georgia Mason, a no-nonsense blogger in a world where zombies have become a part of daily life. She is accompanied by her adoptive brother, Shaun, who insists on seeing every zombie he can, and poking it with a stick. The book is funny, thought-provoking, dramatic, and heart-wrenching. With cult references abound, this book is not to be missed.

Zombies, politics and the "blogosphere." What more could you ask for? The first of the Newsflesh series by Mira Grant, Feed is compelling from start to end. We all are too aware of the recent surge of zombie culture and this book certainly has zombies in it. However, it is not heavily focused on the zombies themselves but those that have adapted to living in the post-zombie apocalypse world. Kellis-Amberlee is explained as the reason for the zombie virus. It is clear that the author has a great interest in and has heavily researched the science and socio-economic aspect of viruses and pharmaceutical medicine. Years after the emergence of zombies, sister and brother, Georgia and Shaun, live in a world of new journalism. Mainstream media misreported the original outbreak and bloggers wrote for themselves and the frightened populace. There are bloggers that write fiction based off what they see, those that dare to "taunt" zombies, and those that write the truth. George, Shaun and their friend Buffy, are very popular among the blogging realm and are hired to follow a presidential candidate across the country. Of course, there is controversy tied with this campaign. Many bad things happen while on the campaign trail, which challenges the relationship of the main characters and those around them. I really recommend this book if you are interested in zombies. Even if you aren't, you probably will still enjoy reading this book.

Once the characters settled in to themselves--somewhere towards the end of the first half--the story was excellent. Until then, I kept being taken out of the story by cliched dialogue and the reliance on character stereotypes. There was some repetitiveness about Georgia's eyes and about being tested that could have been cut out for brevity's sake. None of it was so bad that I abandoned the book, but I did find it a little distracting. That being said, I ended up falling for this book in the second half. Notice, I still give it 4 stars. It's a very good story once the world building finally ends and the story begins. I'm eager to read the next book in the series.

Allow me to be frank at the commencement: I am neither a fan of zombies nor of politics. This novel is about both, and it absorbed me straightaway for all that. Sure, there are zombies in, and politics as well: but this is a novel about people finding a way to flourish and to connect in a world often ruled by fear and a reinforced barricade. (Not to mention blood tests and a well-stocked armory.) This is a novel with well-realized characters, and an achingly authentic narrator you pretty much can't help but come to love or respect (if not both). Mira Grant will enthrall you, get you on the hook, and punch you in the gut. And you know what? You will thank her for all three. Alive or dead, the truth won't rest. Rise up while you can.

I loved the near-future setting. The world building is terrific with little throwaway details that made me blink and think 'That completely makes sense... and it would never have occurred to me.' The characters. Oh sweet *insert deity of your choice here* the characters! Georgia and Shaun are exactly the kind of people you would want to have your back if there was a zombie plague in your neighborhood. Or, for that matter, if there was an outbreak of political campaigns.

Original, detailed, well paced, and quite realistic if we were to survive a zombie outbreak. Brilliantly done.

The best part of Feed is that the book isn't what it seems. Feed comes off as typical zombie tale, but turns into a story of political intrigue. The dynamic and engaging characters further invest the reader into a tale full of twists and turns. Feed is one of the best books I read all year and I can't wait to read the next book in the series, Deadline.

I bought a copy of this when it came out and loved it. Then my oldest daughter, who loves zombies, ended up in the hospital, so I bought another copy for her to read while she was there. I've since given away my own copy to a friend going overseas to Iraq, and need to replace my own. I just love this book.

The zombie outbreak has come and gone, and large numbers of the generation born after 2014 are named George, Georgia, or Barbara in honor of George Romero, the unofficial savior of the world. Zombie mobs are still occurring, and the US has turned into a series of enclaves, people afraid to expose themselves to the danger of spontaneous infection. And it's an election year. Georgia and Shaun Mason are bloggers, and they are invited to ride along with one of the candidates for the Presidency. They've found more news than they can handle-- a conspiracy to cover the cause of the infection. This is a well-written, tightly plotted mystery and political thriller... that just happens to include zombies. Like all great speculative fiction, it shows us a world that could be ours, except that one little thing (like, you know, ZOMBIES) shifted the balance of society and power. Its fast pace keeps you turning pages, and immerses you in the lives of these young journalists who have unwittingly stumbled upon the biggest story of their lives.

I've not read "Feed" and would like to win a copy of this title so I could rate it. "Feed" sounds intriguing...zombies, governmental officials and bloggers. Another Watergate only with zombies and bloggers? Thanks for a chance to win a copy of this book and then comment on it. --Cecilia H.
