About the Author
Ellen Brown is the author of 32 cookbooks, including the highly acclaimed Complete Idiot’s Guide to Slow Cooker Cooking, as well as Gourmet Gazelle Cookbook, winner of the IACP Award, and Cooking with the New American Chefs, a Tastemaker Award finalist. Brown gained the national limelight in 1982 as the founding food editor of USA Today. She was previously senior feature editor for the Cincinnati Enquirer. Her writing has appeared in more than two dozen publications, including The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times syndicate, Bon Appetit, the Baltimore sun, the SanFrancisco Chronicle, and more. She wrote the critically acclaimed Cooking with the New American Chefs (Harper & Row, 1985), which won second place in the Tastemaker Awards. While CEO of Nantucket Cuisine on that island in the ocean, she wrote The Nantucket Cuisine Cookbook for Faraway Publishing.
